Lara Simmons

Lara first stepped on the mat in 1991 and more than 30 years later (in 2022) completed her RYT200 through Yoga Renew. In the intervening years she practiced a wide variety yoga styles, including Hatha, Iyengar, Hot Yoga, Vinyasa, Yin, and Kundalini. She is currently exploring Ashtanga yoga through Fightmaster Yoga online.

Lara is also a dedicated meditation practitioner and has completed two 10-day silent meditation retreats through the NW Vipassana Center in Onalaksa, WA. Her spiritual journey began in earnest in 2002 after the difficult birth of her first son. This experience left her worn-out, exhausted, disillusioned, and angry. Not wanting to be an angry mom, she turned to yoga and meditation to help her heal after this experience. She loves sharing the ups and downs of life, and the tools she has learned to manage this reality through her yoga and meditation practice, with her students.

In addition to teaching a Vinyasa class, Lara also helps manage the front desk at Aditi and teaches one-on-one special education at a small private school in Seattle.
